Frequently Asked Questions

General

The receptions at the Eurobox locations are open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. You can find the current opening hours by selecting a location. As a tenant, you have independent access to the Eurobox building and your own storage unit 365 days a year between 06:00 and 23:00. Different times are possible, but only in consultation with Eurobox Self Storage.

Eurobox Self Storage currently has 9 of its own branches, which you can find in Dordrecht, Bergen op Zoom, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden, Breda (under construction), Noordwijk, Haarlem and Hoofddorp.

If urgent circumstances arise, each location is equipped with several intercoms; you can use these to get in touch with Eurobox’s emergency service. Should the intercom fail to work, you will find a sign with the emergency service number on all reception access doors. You may also, in case of emergency only, call the number below.

Eurobox emergency number

For both options applies: if used outside reception opening hours for matters that are not urgent and could have been dealt with during reception opening hours, you may be charged for this. This also includes situations where you have forgotten your personal access code:

Eurobox staff will never provide you with an access code by telephone!

If you have lost or forgotten your access code, you must always visit the reception desk in person with a form of ID. Eurobox employees will never provide an access code over the phone. The reception desk at Eurobox branches is open on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00. Outside these hours, for safety reasons, you will not be given an access code.

Eurobox can help you in two ways to determine which size of storage unit is right for you:

1. Contact our experienced staff via our freephone number 0800-2226222 so they can advise you personally. You are, of course, also very welcome to visit us for no-obligation advice.

To rent a storage unit, please bring the following items with you: • A valid form of identification (driving licence, passport, residence permit or identity card) • A recent piece of mail for address verification (no older than one month; e.g. from a utility company, telephone provider, etc.) • The deposit and the first month’s rent (you can pay by debit card) For business registrations we also require the following documents: • An extract from the Chamber of Commerce • Your VAT number The director named on the Chamber of Commerce extract must sign the rental agreement. Once you’re registered, you can rent the storage unit immediately or start on the date you choose.
Usually immediately. The simplest way is to visit the relevant branch and, together with the store manager, select a suitable storage unit. This lets you know straight away whether the unit you want is available, and—if you wish—you can store your belongings immediately! Once you have chosen a storage unit, we will register you and draw up a rental agreement together with you. This must be done in person at the relevant Eurobox branch. Please bring: - A valid form of identification - A recent piece of mail for address verification (no older than one month) - The deposit and the first rental instalment (you can pay by debit card) For company registrations we also require: - Chamber of Commerce extract - VAT number Once you’re registered, you can rent the storage unit immediately or at whatever time you prefer.

Yes, the minimum rental period is 14 days.

No, you can rent the storage space for as long as you wish!
No, not at Eurobox Self Storage. You can terminate your storage-space rental on any day of the month with a minimum notice period of two weeks. If you have agreed to rent the unit for a longer term, you may be required to fulfil that entire period. After the rental period ends, we will refund your security deposit—and any overcharged rental fees—within two, but usually one, working day!

No problem at all. At Eurobox Self Storage, you can always switch storage units free of charge.

All you need to do is contact with the branch manager.

The costs per m² vary by location and storage type. The more space you rent, the cheaper it is per m². Request a offerte for an exact price.

Eurobox has implemented numerous security measures; a few examples are: • Access to the building is granted only by entering a secret, personal PIN code. • Your storage unit can be reached via a roller shutter door or a pedestrian door, each fitted with a unique lock for which you alone hold the three keys. • In and around the building dozens of surveillance cameras monitor your goods 24 hours a day. • There is also an alarm system covering the entire premises. • You can additionally opt for an individual unit alarm. • Furthermore, our expert staff and our accredited security company carry out inspection rounds several times a day. • Unique in our industry: at every branch the security company is housed on our premises, so security personnel are frequently on-site during the evening and night. As you can see, Eurobox leaves nothing to chance when it comes to the security of your goods.
Throughout the term of your rental agreement, Eurobox Self Storage offers you free insurance up to a maximum amount of €5,000. Unlike many of our fellow storage companies, you do not have to pay extra for this with us. With other providers you are often required to take out this insurance; with Eurobox’s free cover you save at least €15.00 per month! The collective free insurance offered by Eurobox Self Storage for each individual storage unit ensures that you are always covered against fire, burglary and loss. Goods that conflict with the house rules and/or the general terms and conditions are of course excluded from the insurance. If €5,000 cover is not sufficient for you and you do not have household contents insurance yourself, we can, if you wish, provide you with additional cover. Please ask the store manager for more information. Undoubtedly you are also well insured by means of a household contents insurance policy. Because Eurobox complies with the very highest fire and burglary requirements of the Association of Insurers, you are most likely allowed, under the terms of your policy, to store goods at an Eurobox Self Storage location. Of course, you can also contact your insurance adviser. He or she can tell you everything about your household contents insurance. However, you must at all times notify your insurer that you are going to store your goods with us. You can find the policy conditions of the insurance offered by Eurobox here. N.B. Eurobox pays the insurance premium on your behalf; it is up to the insurer to determine when and whether they will pay out on a claim. Eurobox bears no risk if the insurer decides not to pay out a claim. This is also stated in the concluded rental agreement.
High-quality heating and ventilation systems ensure that your goods are stored at Eurobox in excellent condition, remaining frost- and moisture-free. The temperature in our premises is continuously monitored and will not drop below 13 °C.
Yes! You may always pack, repack and overpack your goods in your storage unit. You may also carry out administrative tasks. Mechanical operations are not permitted; the insurers do not allow them.

We charge you €1.00 per parcel and €10.00 per pallet.

  • Pack small items in boxes wherever possible. There are special boxes for books, clothing, etc.
  • Label the boxes on multiple sides and note what’s inside each one, so you can easily locate your belongings later.
  • Seal the boxes securely and pack them so they don’t collapse when you stack them in your unit.
  • Protect your furniture and mattresses as much as possible with special covers or moving blankets (available in our shop).
  • Wrap mirrors, paintings and posters and store them upright against the wall.
  • Place frequently used items as close as possible to the entrance door of your unit.
  • Make optimal use of your space by using shelving.
  • Clean refrigerators and freezers thoroughly before storing them in your unit and leave them open. You can then use the interior for storing small items.
  • Dismantle large pieces of furniture wherever possible.
  • Sofas can be stood upright. If you do this, place something underneath, such as a piece of cardboard or plastic.

You pay us in advance by direct debit. To this end, you grant a mandate when signing the rental agreement. Companies, of course, receive a monthly VAT invoice from us, but these are also settled by direct debit. When checking in and when buying or renting items, you can pay us in cash or by PIN.

Yes. At Eurobox there is a notice period of just two weeks. You can end your rental on any day of the month. Unlike many other storage space providers, you don’t have to wait until the end of the rental period. Any overpaid rent will, of course, be refunded to you, so you only pay for the days you actually rented. That’s only fair.

1. Please notify us of the cancellation in writing; this can be done at the reception desk, by e-mail or by post. 2. If you wish to cancel by e-mail, your e-mail address must be registered in our records.
No, we no longer charge a deposit for storage space; a deposit may apply to other services.
After we have received your written notice to terminate the tenancy agreement, we will end the agreement on the date you have requested; on that day we will prepare your final statement. As a rule, on the same working day after the contract has ended, any applicable deposit and any overpaid rent will be returned to the bank account we have on record.

Transport

If you wish to hire a removal van, removal lorry or trailer, it is advisable to telephone the branch or complete one of the reservation forms below. The Eurobox staff will check availability for you and reserve the vehicle if it is available. You can then collect the key from the branch on the agreed hire day.
Yes, a deposit must be paid for both trailers and removal vans. The deposit amount for Eurobox trailers is €100. The deposit amount for both the removal van and the removal truck is €250. If you return the vehicle in the same condition at the agreed time (for removal vans also with a full tank), you will receive the deposit back immediately. You can pay the deposit by debit card (PIN) or in cash. We do not accept credit cards! The excess for trailers is €250; for removal vans it is €1500.* *The excess depends on the type of damage to which it applies. Please contact a staff member for more information about the excess.
A trailer can be hired for one day between 06:00 and 23:00. The removal van and moving lorry can be hired for either a half day or a full day. • A half day runs from 09:00 to 13:00 or from 13:30 to 17:30. • A full day runs from 09:00 to 17:30. At weekends you may only hire these vehicles for full days due to the reception’s limited opening hours. On Saturday the reception is open from 10:00 to 15:30; on Sunday it is closed.
The minimum age to hire a removal van or a tail-lift van from Eurobox is 21 years, and you must have held your driving licence for at least two years.
The moving vans always have three seats.
You can drive unlimited kilometres in the bus you hire; the first 100 kilometres are free of charge, after which we charge €0.23 per kilometre. You cannot pre-purchase additional kilometres.
You will always receive your vehicle from Eurobox with a full tank of fuel. To avoid extra fuel charges, you must return the vehicle with a full tank. To prevent any dispute, we always require that you provide or allow us to inspect your fuel receipt. Any missing fuel at return must be paid for, and we also charge €42.50 including VAT for staff escort to the petrol station. These costs will be deducted from your security deposit. Furthermore, the price per litre charged by Eurobox may be higher than that at the local petrol station. It is therefore advisable to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel to avoid any dispute.
Only if availability allows can the vehicle be used for longer than the rental period previously agreed with you; you will therefore need explicit permission from Eurobox Self Storage. Always contact the store manager by telephone to discuss whether an extension is possible!

For worry-free use of your vehicle, you can rely on breakdown assistance in emergencies. All Eurobox buses are covered by an ANWB breakdown assistance subscription or Mercedes breakdown assistance. The membership card is linked to the registration number and is in the glove compartment.

Eurobox’s trailers do not have their own insurance; they must always be covered under the policy of the towing vehicle. Before you hire a trailer, please check the terms and cover with your insurer.

If you are faced with damage and/or theft of our trailer, you must immediately contact the vestiging from which you hired the vehicle. In all damage cases, you must complete a European accident statement form with the parties involved.

The means of transport, such as the removal van and the tail-lift moving truck, are insured by Eurobox Self Storage against damage and theft. If you are faced with damage and/or theft, you must immediately contact the branch where you hired the vehicle. In all cases of damage you must complete a European Damage Report Form together with the parties involved. In the event of damage, the excess is €750.00 plus the first-year premium difference as referred to in article 10.1 of the general terms and conditions. In the event of overhead damage, the foregoing ceases to apply and the excess is €1,500.00 plus the first-year premium difference as referred to in article 10.1 of the general terms and conditions.

Moving supplies

Eurobox offers a very wide range of moving and packaging materials for sale. We sell, among other things, plastic wrap, moving blankets, covers and various sizes of moving boxes to protect your belongings optimally during transport. You can view our full range hier.

No, unfortunately that is not possible. However, you can purchase them from us. We recommend that you use only new packaging materials for the transport and storage of your goods.

PO Box FAQ

Yes, certainly, we rent PO boxes to both private individuals and companies.
No, you cannot register with the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) using a Eurobox PO box.
